It’s a simple revelation, yet so profound. After being inspired by a 5 pound block of clay, I thought I’d share what came to mind as I was sculpting my vision.
At first glance, this dense structure seems relatively lifeless and dull to the eye. All this material is rather intimidating, because there is so many directions you can go with. Thats why vision is important. Being a visionary is like looking into the future with your minds eye then making your way back down from the end point to the start. This at least gives you an idea of what you are striving to create. This is true when working with clay and when working through life.
As you put your hands on the block and begin to move the malleable material… it quickly becomes evident what needs to go. While you scrape away all the extra clay that was hiding your vision; you finally begin to see your idea manifesting itself through your intricate and decisive eliminations.
In life we must learn how to be flexible like the still wet clay. To reveal ones true nature, it takes layers and layers of learned programming to be shed to truly uncover that form.
At times we believe that we don’t have enough when in-fact its the complete opposite. We have so much and in excess that our judgment is being barricaded. It becomes a heavy burden molding yourself to be someone who you are not, just because you can.
When you start your healing journey, and begin letting go of dead weight, it allows you to appreciate every curve, angle, and even the imperfections. At first it may look like you aren’t making any progress. Sometimes [ a lot of times ] you’ll even find yourself wanting to ditch the work all together because it doesn’t look like the vision you had initially intended.
But you stay diligent.
You’ll make many mistakes, you’ll cry out of frustration, you’ll doubt yourself and even God at times, but no matter what… you keep going.
Then one day, you find yourself so happily and blissfully content with just you and your block of clay; that everything else that the world has to offer doesn’t even remotely equate to the abundance that you have in this very moment.
The pressure is gone, you love yourself, and you trust that what ever comes to pass, you already have what you need to create joy.
I see this as a message for the collective to take the time to let go of habits and systematic ways of thinking so that we can reform. Rebuild ourselves so that we can see a better future for all. As gentle as one would handle a beautiful work of clay, this is how gentle we should be with ourselves and the Earth that we live on/with. Now more than ever, it is important to put compassion and peace at the for front of our agendas. The children need safe places to grow. The people need leaders who can actually lead. Its time we lived a life that celebrated our true form instead of being shaped into boxes. We are all uniquely and divinely made, and its about time we started acting like it.
